Caribbean Holidaze 2009
December 10-14, 2009
Breezes & Hedonism Resorts
Runaway Bay, Jamaica

Yes, Jamaica is paradise…blue water, sunny skies, soft sandy beaches and palm trees blowing in the wind. Add a bunch of really cool bands, stir it up, and the end result is Caribbean Holidaze. For our 3rd year, we whisked hundreds of fans back to Hedo and Breezes for one last time! We went out with a bang, that's for sure! Here are some of the highlights: Brownie hosted the Bob Marley Zion Bus Tour. Brownie and Barber had a dance off during their last show, Jen Hartswick BLEW our minds with her powerful voice on Barracuda with Umphrey's. The New Deal not only came in and performed as a trio but members of the band joined up with others from Umphrey's to deliver TWO, we said TWO 70s/80s rock performances: Yacht Rock, the softer side of that era and Omega Moos, the slamming ROCK side. It floored us, it was just that GOOD! Perpetual Groove did a great job with their sets, Brock Butler gently delivered beautiful solo sets, Michael G from Easy Star Allstars played dub versions of Radiohead and more!!!!

Also, in conjunction with Leaving a Positive Legacy, Cloud 9 hosted a silent auction at Holidaze to benefit the Rural Retreat Community Center in the Claremont region of Jamaica. Proceeds from the auction allowed us to purchase a professional grade brush cutter for the community to keep its soccer field in tip top shape.

The whole week was fabulous, everything from the weather to the fans to the incredible music that filled the warm air. We were so lucky to get to spend 3 years in Jamaica but it was time to move our tropical heaven to another country and add another band!
